Current USA entry requirements

For UK person proof of vax and attestation. Usual ESTA or Visa requirement. Vax means the initial two, boosters not required.

The doc method currently used by BA seems a mess. I flew a few days ago, and to be fair my ticket was a mess. It was an AA ticket with maybe 8 flights no longer happening, due to endless schedule changes. The BA LHR-JFK flight was on two different BA PNRs, with different seats. I tried the link for upload on both, first didn’t get successfully reviewed, so I tried the other. After a couple of hours that generated two replies one minute apart, first said success second failure. At that point I just turned up at T5 checked in without any reference to docs so either they no longer care or they’d been successful.
Flight was a marked improvement in terms of food, drink and service from 6 months ago. Met at jet way by AA rep with boarding passes for next hops with expedited tag. Unnecessary as between GE and TSA-Pre I had an hour in the very nice Soho lounge.

Airlines shouldn’t ask to see your ESTA – it’s an electronis authorisation after all though BAs ground handler in either SOF or BUD seemed particuarly insistant on seeing it.

Most check in staff will ask something like “you’re travelling on an esta?” and that’s it just in case they need to check a visa but they can see a marker on their screen that you’re good to go.

The only time I was asked to see it was by TAP at LHR. Try accessing the ESTA website at 4am on a phone trying to type your details in and hoping you’ve not made any typos! Since then I downloaded the screen on to my ipad.
